Mommy figured out that in order to get some more hugs and kisses from the kids she had to create a bit of a competition. So, Mommy loves to ask the kids "Who wants to give Mommy a 10-point-oh hug!?" The kids always stop what they are doing and race over saying "I do, I do!" They then wrap their arms around Mommy's neck and give a generous squeeze, then they plant a sweet kiss on her check. They always score perfect 10.0's!!

Daddies always seem to make everything better and happier! Especially this fantastic daddy. We are so thankful for Daddy!

In fact, Daddy routinely lobbies to be the "stay-at-home parent." True, Daddy is one of the best cooks we know, he always uses coupons and hunts for the sale, he always makes the kids laugh, he never gets tired of playing book-shop or trains, he likes to bike with the kids, he likes to clean, he does laundry (he checks pockets, unlike Mommy), and he loves to give BIG huggle-snuggles! However, Daddy also happens to be great at his work too. So, Mommy is thankful that she gets to be the stay-at-home-Mommy. Plus, it makes "Daddy-time" even sweeter for the kids! Thanks Daddy.

Tea for three

Nate started back at his school this week. He was excited to see his teachers and friends (and especially his school playground). Mommy thought Lily started back at school as well, but luckily the night before she found out she was wrong.

So, it was time to plan a Mommy-daughter excursion! The tea-room downtown was perfect.

Lily and two of her school friends dressed in their finest and enjoyed finger sandwiches (egg salad was a big hit) and sweets and scones with black currant jam. The girls poured their own caffeine-free raspberry tea while the Moms enjoyed black-raspberry tea (delicious!). However, the girls did use about 5 spoonfuls of sugar in their tea cups to make it taste more like lemonade. It was a fun/cute date!

New Years Eve 2011

Lily, Nate, and Mommy went to Nanaji and Naniji's to celebrate New Years. Daddy was able to join us for one night on New Years (he had his Coast Guard drill prior). As usual, the kids loved playing with all the fun toys.

Nani taught Lily how to sew a bag in which to keep all her "Upwords" game pieces. Very cute!

Another fun treat was the sparkling grape juice that Nana-ji brought. At first Nate thought it was weird, but then he couldn't get enough of it!

A little spoiling

The kids spent the day with Masi enjoying bounce houses, games, and happy meals (with fries!!)

Lily and Nate love eating in Masi's dining room because they can see them selves while eating. They like to pretend they are looking at other kids who look like them and who happen to have bad manners of eating with their mouths open! :)

Christmas Morning

The kids woke up ready to see what Santa brought them!

Before opening the presents we all stopped to sing "Happy Birthday" to Jesus.

Here Lily discovered that Santa ate all but one piece of his sugar cookie (with sprinkles) and left them a note. Nate kept eyeing the piece of cookie and eventually ate it! He started to eat the leftover carrot that the reindeer left, but decided it wasn't worth his while.

Both Lily and Nate got the binoculars they asked for (that was the only thing they asked Santa for). Luckily Santa didn't have to go far to get these because he found two pairs at the River House! Nate also unwrapped a toddler Transformer.

Santa left Nate a cool Auburn pillow pet (Papa thought he was very snuggly).

The kids favorite part was pulling out goodies from their stockings. It was so funny to see Nate get his whole head in the stocking before pulling up a stocking stuffer.

To round out the kids three gifts, Santa also got Lily a Tinker-bell nightgown and a Tinker-bell alarm clock/bank.

The After Party

We headed up to Huntsville to spend the night. B'Ro and Nate were best buds. They were hilarious talking to each other on the 'hawkey-tawkeys.' Lily and Sarah were also glued at the side. They loved creating and playing.

Mr. W gave Sarah the game 'Payday'. The little and big kids alike loved it! The littlest kids played 'Sorry' with Chacha.

Chachi wowed everyone with a delicious meal and Chacha's favorite black-bottom banana cream pie! Plus some belly-playing on kiddy bellies.

The kids had a field-day opening up gifts from the family!

Nate loved all his train gifts and Lily particularly loved the pot-holder loom and sticker-machine!

Dirty Santa left Papa with his gift, once Daddy stole back his gift (a mallet). Mommy contributed a Tim Tebow gift that left Daddy wondering if "Mommy has a little too much free time on her hands!"

What really happened

Daddy had to stop by the car shop (where Daddy's rear brakes were being fixed) to swap out his tennis shoes for dress shoes. Daddy's friend Mr. B was a HUGE help in taking Daddy to get his cap and gown while Mommy took the truck to the car shop.

While Daddy was sitting patiently in the sea of graduates, the kids were playing 'I spy Daddy':

Soon enough the animals got restless and had to flee to open pastures.

Dr. B and Chacha tried to find the most impressive dissertation title.

We watched Daddy on a jumbo-screen.

Chacha snuck the kids back in to give Daddy a wave and a cheer.

After an hour and a half of fanfare we were ready for a Mexican dinner celebration!

Pre-Christmas Fun

The church's children Christmas pageant was a grand success. Nate was a cute and quiet raisin-eating cow and Lily was a sweet singing angel (they sang "Friendly Beasts, Hark the Harold, Silent Night, We Three Kings, Joy to the World).

The beach had it's annual Christmas (candy) parade. Nate loved saying "Merry Christmas!" to everyone and getting lollipops. Lily loved collecting the candy and seeing the colored lights.

The kids also enjoyed putting together a gingerbread house (kit courtesy of Mr. W next door). Mommy and the kids especially enjoyed breaking off pieces to eat!

5 Year Old Girl!

Lily had a gymnastics party with her coach (she was SUPER excited to have her first non-home party). There were 19 kids there (including brother and sisters who came). Days before, Lily assembled all the gifts bags (with some help from the babysitter). Mommy and Masi fulfilled Lily's request of a Tinkerbell, homemade yellow-cake with chocolate frosting (plus 20 cupcakes with sprinkles for the kids).

The party was very organized and fun! Nate loved being out on the floor (he's used to the waiting room). Lily, who can already do one chin-up, loved showing off her skills.

Happy, happy birthday to sweet Lily! At five she is reading words, writing words (working on the spelling), doing handstands and cartwheels, being a great helper and sister, and being sweet dear Lily! Oh, and she wants to be a Gulf World trainer (of dolphins and sea lions), and a swim teacher, and a dentist (for her money making job).

Daddy and the kids enjoyed the near-by school playground (and showing off some skills).

Before the meal Daddy and Lily and Masi participated in the annual Turkey Trot. Poor Mommy hurt her back (from coughing) and could not go.

San Fran

This November Mommy tagged along with Daddy on one of his business trips. It was a long flight to get there and only one full day of sight-seeing, but it was fun. From San Francisco to Monterey to Watsonville to Alameda...

This was the first time Mommy had been gone from Nate overnight. JoJo and Papa took over and watched the kids at the house. Many thanks to the brave grandparents :)

Mommy and Daddy had a chance to visit Sarah's cousin C (and her Mommy). They are so sweet.

Then it was on to visit Daddy's former coworker R. Thanks to his great hosting, Mommy and Daddy had a great one-day visit of San Fran (from the Pier to Muir Woods to the Golden Gate bridge)!

And yes there was Occupy San Fran too (here are "the 99%"). However, it seemed to be a rather odd hippy-like hangout...

November Odds 'n Ends

Lily did another clinic at the base: Basketball. She was pretty awesome at shooting and dribbling!

Daddy took everyone to a local high school football game (Nate's first). Lily loved it all and Nate loved the band!

Mommy and Ms. Wendy took the kids to yet another after school visit to the Junior Science Museum.

The kids enjoyed the fall festival at Pier Park. It was a chilly day but everyone wanted a snow cone. Nate ate all of his while crying that his mouth was too cold.

Lily's class presented Spanish, Chinese, and English songs at the Festival of Nations. Both Lily (and Nate) loved practicing "Yankee Doodle." Afterward the kids enjoyed ice cream and a pony ride.

Halloween: Neighborhood Style

It was talked about for over a month, the count-down began at 17 more night-times, the kids delighted in thinking about the treats they would get, they practiced with treats (aka toys) in the room, and finally it came and went.

We tricked and treated with little H and baby J (aka Minnie and Mickey Mouse).

All the kids were great at saying "trick-or-treat" and "thank you." They didn't even ask to have a candy until we got home...maybe Daddy's trick of first stuffing them with hotdogs and Sunchips and carrots worked.

Lily had to keep reminding Nate that it is "Yeehaw" not "Beehaw."

The kids came home with a bunch of treats from a dozen or so houses (we loaded up the wagon and walked two streets down). Nate ate a lollipop (his favorite candy) and Lily had three treats. We then dumped the candy on the rug and Nate chose 4 candies to keep (2 chocolate bars, lollipop, and Smarties), Lily chose 6 assorted treats (no chocolates), and then Daddy chose 4 (ALL chocolate), and Mommy chose 4 (chocolate and Tootsie-Rolls).

Mommy was happily surprised that Nate didn't complain that he couldn't keep all the candies. The rest of the loot went to Daddy's work where it is donated to a children's Christmas party for less fortunate kids.

Halloween PreK4 Style

Monday was Lily's day to have fun with her classmates (minus any treats).

Lily's school had their Halloween parade on Halloween morning. The kids loved getting out of their uniforms and showing off their costumes. Mommy and Ms. W surprised the girls by showing up dressed as Lily and A in their school uniforms. Lily kept asking "why do you have that on?"

Nate says "I love my bed." We used the pool noodle trick we learned from Chachi (tucked under the fitted sheet on the edge just in case he rolls too far). However, Nate likes to snuggle up to the wall.

Nate's preschool had a Halloween party Thursday. The kids looked great in their costumes! They even went trick-or-treating to each classroom. They loved it!

St. Andrew's State Park was our adventure a few weekends ago. The kids were armed with magnifying glasses and on the lookout for wild animals. They had to settle for one squirrel, lots of butterflies, and pine sap.

PCRS Race

Lily's school had a fundraiser (race). Daddy was on the committee and helped out, while Mommy and Masi watched the kids. Lily did the fun run, but at the last minute Nate decided he'd rather eat snacks.

There were lots of raffle prizes and guess which "hard-worker" got one...yes, Nate! Go figure :)

After words, Masi treated everyone to a late lunch at Red Robins!

Yes, we play outside a lot. Last weekend we were gone and one of our neighbors welcomed us back by saying, "Boy, it sure is quite around here when y'all are gone."

True! We love to hang out in the front yard playing "races" until everyone is worn out, or watching Lily and Daddy have a hand stand and cartwheel competition. Simple and fun.

It is so neat seeing Mom's lug around babies in the car seat while dropping off their older children to Preschool. That was Mommy and Nate two years ago! It is a continued reminder to thank the Good Lord for keeping these two healthy, happy, growing children with us! (And, aren't two year olds so cute!)

Nate's First Day (PreK-2)

Tuesday was Nate's big day.

Mommy and Daddy were SO surprised how Nate marched into his preschool. He was ready to have fun. He dropped his bag into his cubby,

found a truck to play with,

and said hi to Ms. Angie and Ms. Jennye.

When Mommy picked Nate up he reported that he "played and played, held hands to the playground, got stamps on his hands, and got a candy." Yes, Nate has now joined the "FSU of preschools" (as Daddy calls it). He gets a "Smartie" candy for cleaning up, juice in his cup, watches Elmo at pick-up time, and learns along the way. It is perfect for Nate!

However, on the third day of class (Nate attends Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday from 8:30-12pm), Nate cried in the car begging to go home. Luckily Mommy talked him into going to school, and he reported that they "sang "Happy Birthday to [classmate] M" and ate cupcakes." Ah, now those are some good times at school!

PreK-4 (First Day)

Lily was excited for her first day.

She has a new teacher, a new classroom, some new classmates, and her beloved new backpack (roller bag) that she picked out with Daddy.

When the teacher was ready for the kids, Lily ran in without a hug or kiss goodbye. She was so excited to be there. Lily has 5 at her table, 2 girls and 3 boys. There are 18 students in the class (7 girls).

Morning fun

Two weekends ago, we made a last hurrah to the beach before school starts (next week). However, since the beach is at our backyard, surely we'll have plenty more trips to come!

Lily really enjoyed her gymnastic's camp a few weeks ago, and since has been busy practicing day and night. Mommy usually finds her "sitting" like this,

Summer of Summer Camps

This summer was so much fun. It seems that being 4 years old is the ticket to summer fun activities. Lily had fun this summer at:

Digging for Dinosaurs (at the Science museum), swim lessons,

a basketball clinic,

a baseball clinic,

gymnastics,

and vacation Bible school

...and Nate was a great sport taking Lily everywhere :)

Last month Daddy started a weekly "after dinner science experiment extravaganza." So far Mommy hasn't had to take anyone to the hospital or use the fire extinguisher--so the experiments have been successful. Daddy has taught the kids about

propulsion (via a balloon rocket),

chemical reactions (via volcanoes),

surface tension (via paperclips on water),

and expansion and contraction (via a hot-air balloon, that took a lot longer to make than anyone thought!)

Summer Cuts

Before the 4th of July weekend, the kids went to Supercuts. Nate got his hair corrected (Mommy got carried away with the scissors...again) and Lily had her 1st true haircut! Lily was SO excited. Nate was not (hence the pacifier he isn't suppose to have in the day).

Good Times

Uncle N and Dojo dropped by for a visit last weekend. The kids always love it when they visit--and, of course, bringing toys is an added bonus!

Nate was surprised with another birthday present/basket full of Cars toys, bubbles, bouncy balls, and cups. Dojo (and Uncle N) always seem to give the kids just the right presents that continue to be used daily (princess wand, dress-up clothes, dump truck car, Polly-pockets,...)

Another Dojo favorite is a talking Tom Cat that keeps sending the kids the best messages. Nate is convinced that the cat is really "Skyping" him and singing him birthday songs, Easter songs, the Green Beret song! Here the kids are swarming Dojo's phone petting Tom Cat and viewing Mr. Robot's groovy dance moves.

For dinner we had a seafood cookout and had fun spending more time with everyone, including JoJo and her friends Mrs. M and Mrs. C. Nate loved hanging out with Uncle N and helping JoJo cook in the kitchen. And Lily loved playing catch, with a very small bouncy ball, with Mrs. C, and playing hide-and-seek with Dojo (Lily proved to be a very patient and persistent hider!)

It was another fun summer day and hopefully we can do it again soon.

4th on 3rd with 7th

On July 3rd we gathered at the river house for JoJo and Papa's annual 4th of July family picnic. It was great seeing everyone!

Before enjoying all the yummies, Papa gave a patriotic toast to all the former and current service members in the family.

We also carved out some time to celebrate Nate's upcoming birthday on the 7th.

Nate loved hearing everyone sing Happy Birthday to him! And after months of creating Lego cakes at home and pretending to blow out the candle, Nate got the job done!

The strawberry cupcakes were a lot sweeter than last years cornbread cake :)

Later that evening Lily helped Nate open a few presents. It was hilarious seeing Lily so excited and "helping" Nate open his presents to see what he got. Luckily, Nate is used to his big sister taking charge.

Back to the river

We spent the July 4th weekend at Papa and JoJo's. Everyone had fun playing in the river,

riding on the boat and the jet-ski,

trying to sink Chacha in the raft,

trying to use newly learned swimming strokes (not just the kiddos),

making s'mores (yummy),

and playing babies and sardines inside

The Tucker family also came out on Saturday and enjoyed it too!

Happy Birthday to our "Sugary Doughnut" (i.e. wet Nate rolling around on the beach).

NATE at 2 Years: 29 pounds; 35 inches.

He has great manners, loves to talk, stutters when excited, loves to play cub-bear (pretend he is a lost baby bear, and Mommy asks if he wants to join our family or go back to the forest), calls pink "pink-a-licious," loves Daddy's big truck, loves trucks and pirates, loves "Bubble Guppies" cartoon and "Dora," says "Love you Mommy-a" at night time.

Beach Vacationers

We were pleasantly surprised when cousin Tuckers dropped by during their beach vacation. Lily and Nate were super excited to have "fresh meat" to play with. The kids were so sweet and kept Lily and Nate happy. Lily was thoughtful enough to take a few pictures with her camera, but unfortunately they are a fuzzy blur. Next time Mommy will be a back-up!

Later in the week, more cousins were down for their beach vacation. We were thrilled to have everyone over one night for food, fun, and fellowship. Of course, spraying water, the slip 'n slide, and the neighbor's pool, were main attractions!

Thanks to Lily's two weeks of swim lessons with Mr. Bill (see pic below),

Lily was able to swim around with big swimmer Sarah. As a true swimmer, Sarah made sure to get in some race practice with Lily.

Also, one night, with flashlights and nets in hand, the kids also got together to go hunting for sand crabs. Brody, Sarah, and Lily caught a few of those fast critters, while Ephraim taught Nate how to do belly flop rolls in the banks of sand. Good fun!

Ignored no longer

It was talked about for seven long years. Unfortunately, something always seemed to come up that needed more attention or repair or replacement. So it had to wait, and wait, and finally resign to its dreary existence. However, now its blah appearance becomes oh-so-beautiful. It was worth the wait of saving up and doing it justice. Congratulations Master Bath, you are officially marked off the list!

This weekend we visited Nanaji and Nanaji. It was a nice and relaxing weekend. The kids loved keeping cool in the kiddie pool, eating ice cream drumsticks and Nani's curried chicken, drinking their new favorite drink--watermelon juice, putting together puzzles (and destroying them afterward), and sleeping like babies.

Nate also got some early birthday surprises. Nate looked at the presents and said "my birthday presents!"

He loved them all and thanked everyone with big neck hugs.

Of course, Lily got to take home some loot too!

Memorial Day Weekend 2011

We enjoyed spending the weekend with family and friends. Lily and one of her best friends A had a blast skimboarding down the slip and slide. Nate loved walking down and back...and trying to drink the water.

And of course, Nate remains the resident "pelican."

Daddy worked hard shining up Mommy's car and then onto JoJo and Papa's!

The fun continued with friend L too! Summer time is here!

P.S. Mommy can't wait for Nate to start school in August, so he can make some friends other than 4 and 5 year old girls :)

Shake Out

Whenever Mommy asks the question, "Nate, did you go poopy in your diaper?"

Nate always looks away and mumbles "No ma'am." He really thinks if he continues to deny it, then it never happened, and he can stay happy as a messy little guy.

Another thing that Nate and Lily do when that question is asked is say "Ready! Shake it out." Then it is a battle of Rock-Paper-Scissors. Lately, Mommy has been sitting pretty while Daddy gets loser's dirty duty. Every time Nate "shakes it out," he always ends the game with his face in his hands saying "oh, man!"

P.S. A few Sundays ago when we were leaving church, we said goodbye to the pastor and asked Nate to shake hands... Nate put on his game face and starting "throwing scissors." Since then, Mommy has schooled the poor child on greeting etiquette :)

Lily can reach the ground on her "big" princess bike. So she is now cruising the neighborhood daily (twice around the block).

Nate still prefers the Flintstone method of travel; however, Lily is a great teacher.

Okay, so Facebook is growing on Mommy. Last week Mommy added an old friend to her FB (who Mommy hadn't seen in 13 years). After talking, Mommy found out that her friend Alicia was coming this way for business (in a few days!) So, thanks to FB, two old friends spent a little over an hour catching up. How fun!

Wow, what a wonderful surprise--only a few steps from our front door.

The Mommy bird (who can be seen in this photo) was very clever to keep her family safe in our prickly palm tree.

The funniest thing was later that day Mommy asked Nate to smile for a picture and instead of squinting his eyes (like he usually does) he decided to open his mouth. He must know he's Mommy's little baby bird too...

Egg Hunt

Last weekend our lovely church held a kids' Easter egg hunt. Lily and Nate loved finding all the eggs. Lily especially loved that it was a candy egg hunt!

Daddy also volunteered to share the resurrection egg story with the kids. What a wonderful way to help learn the story of Easter.

When we came home Mommy and Daddy decided Nate needed a new summer hairdo. Yes, Mommy does like it longer, but the summers here are hot! Daddy did a great job of cutting around the squirrelly little guy...However, Nate proved to be a bit too restless when it came to doing the edging. Yikes!

...One day Nate will learn it is in his best interest to sit still and get a real barber's haircut (from a professional!) Until then...eh, close enough.

Visitors (Part 2)

Masi spent a short visit with us. Lily and Masi made some super yummy chocolate chip cookies, and Nate loved being read to (and lifted "up-to-the-sky").

We also enjoy attending the church luncheon, and we took an evening trip to the beach. It was a chilly night, but Nate and Lily had a ball!

Oh, and Lily and Daddy enjoyed the super-high ferris wheel!

It's been SO fun having all the family visitors. Now, here's a shout out to Uncle N and Dojo--you're next, right! :)

Weekend Visitors (Part 1)

This weekend we were thrilled to have Aunt Sonja and Uncle Jerry drop by to see the kids. Lily and Nate were SO happy to see them. Lily latched onto Sonja, and they drew pictures together.

Nate was Uncle Jerry's buddy too. At times he got a little too excited and started throwing coasters (Sorry, Mommy was so embarrassed! We're working on that.)

It was a short visit, but we loved it. See you on the 4th in AL!

Mommy remembers way back when Nanaji would pick Mommy and Masi up in a muscle pose (one little girl on each bicep). Today Daddy did the same with Lily, and Mommy struggled through it. Mommy and Daddy will have to try again when Nate learns how to hold on tight too!

Springtime Festival

Masi invited us over to her city for some springtime fun. We got off late so sadly Lily missed her fun-run. Masi and Mommy took the kids on their very hilly 5K walk, just beating Daddy and Mr. Mike on their 10K run.

Afterwards Daddy scouted out some festival food (hotdogs, muffins, etc).

Then it was time for the parade. Nate loved the fire trucks and motorcycles.

Lily was keeping her eye out for candy (she did get a butterscotch candy)...

Bowling First

After Lily spent a couple of days getting her strength back from the stomach bug, Mommy and Daddy treated her to a morning of bowling.

Lily and Nate loved to see their "own" bowling balls go down the lane.

Unfortunately, Nate spent half of the time wanting to be held. As it turned out, the "Chick-fil-A" cow made an appearance and Nate was mesmerized and traumatized (a giant upright walking, waving cow!?)

Bug

Soon after the fun with family, a stomach bug hit and took Lily down. After 3 1/2 days of losing the battle, Lily was admitted to the hospital for fluids and overnight observance. Lily only wanted Daddy by her side and of course Daddy was there every step of the way.

Lily did not like getting the IV tube in her hand and just wanted to go home. However, the sweet nurse surprised her with Scooby fruit snacks and suddenly the hospital stay was pretty fun.

The next day Lily was full of fluids and back to her usual self! Thank you God.

March Gathering

It was a fun weekend with family and friends. JoJo, Papa, Chacha, Chachi, Sarah, and Ephraim came down to visit! Another special visitor stayed with us too--Daddy's friend, Dr. BamBam (minus new baby K).

There was a lot of quality playtime,

and many snuggle times.

The kids even racked up enough arcade tickets (Papa's treat) to purchase the oh-so-coveted arcade bubble gum!

Favorites

Interestingly enough, Lily and Nate's favorite part of Disney was getting their own ice cream cones,

and their own candy (colored sugar stuff in a tube for Lily and some M & M's for Nate).

The most favorite part of the vacation weekend was the pool/lazy river at the Omni resort. In fact, Mommy and Daddy asked Lily and Nate if they wanted to spend the next day at Disney or at the hotel...POOL, POOL, was the unanimous decision. Mommy and Daddy were thrilled!

Mommy's favorite part was bringing back Lily's new Ikea bookcases. Finally all her toys are off the floor and stored so neatly!

1st Disney Family Trip

We made our first family trip to Disney March 11th - 13th. Almost all of Lily's schoolmates were making the "big trip" and she really wanted that to be our vacation spot. Mommy and Daddy caved. The drive was a bit too long for the kids, but we did discover a great playground on the way.

Lily got to ride a few rides; however, we spent most of our time in Magic Kingdom waiting in lines...

Lily and Nate thought the character show was pretty neat.

However, Mommy and Daddy realized that Disney isn't quite their style, and they should explore their own "vacation city" too!

Flying

On March 10th Lily got on her bike and showed us that she knew how to ride her little bike by herself! The balance bike (Skutt) she borrowed helped SO much.

Nate is still getting around on his tricycle by scooting on his tippy-toes.

Finally Mommy found a class that Nate and Lily can do together--art class! They had fun learning about famous artists and replicating some of their works.

Kids' Mardi Gras

Last weekend was full of beautiful weather and fun. On Friday we took the kids to see the pet/kid Mardi Gras parade in St. Andrews. It was a lot of fun. Lily kept her hands up in the air and Nate kept them on his ears. At one point, Nate decided that it was safer to be on the sidewalk and kept asking to stand back there.

Nate's friend Heidi had the same idea too. We think she became leery of it all when a "Laffy Taffy" hit her on the head (poor girl). However, the other boys had a great time scooping up all the loot.

On Saturday we headed to the park for some soccer, b-ball, and playground fun.

Later in the evening, Daddy and Lily then got all dolled up to attend the "Daddy Daughter Ball" at the base. Lily decided she wanted to go as Cinderella, so she wore the blue dress Nani got her from India, and Ms. Joyce made her some matching accessories. Luckily, Daddy got away with not wearing the Prince cape that "all princes should wear."

Lily had a blast jump-dancing with Daddy to songs like "Girls Just Wanna to Have Fun, Party in the USA, and Oh, Mickey You're So Fine," and Lily loved the cupcakes too. She even saw two of her classmates there! Daddy said it was obvious that no Mommies were there (i.e. kids running around shoeless, frosting around mouths, balloon smashing, etc.) So cute and so very fun.
