Nighty-Night Kid Style

Yes, Nate likes to sleep with 8-10 stuffed animals.

And, Lily likes to camp out in the corner of her room.

*Also, thank you to JoJo and Papa for helping watch the kids during spring break!  The kids loved it (and Mommy too).

Some Favs

Dojo and Uncle N picked another winner with the Richard Scarry book "Cars and Trucks and Things That Go."  Nate giggles hysterically whenever he finds Goldbug on each page.  Here he's looking for that wild and crazy Dingo.

You can tell these two buddies have older sisters :)

Sweet "cheekers" with Daddy at nighttime.

Music is in the air!

Three Month Catch-Up

We took a trip to visit Nanaji and Naniji.  The kids loved it as usual.  (March)
The kids' school celebrated Dr. Seuss' birthday by dressing up. Mommy loved getting crafty. (March)

We celebrated JoJo and Papa's birthdays (end of February).  Happy Birthdays!

Daddy took Lily to the Daddy-Daughter Ball on base (February).  They learned to dance the "chicken," "Wobble," "Macarena," and already knew "Gangnam Style."  And enjoyed a yummy chocolate fountain.  Nate and Mommy watched Umizoomi at home.

Lily was "Queen of the Messy" at Laundry Day at church (in February).

Lily did well at her second gymnastics' competition (in February).

Daddy ran his first (and maybe last) marathon in about 4 hours (in January).

On Saturday, January 26, 2013, GG passed away from a stroke.  She would have been 93 years old on February 22nd.  GG lived a long wonderful life full of love.  We love and miss our dear great-grandmother and her beautifully contagious smile.

I know her little buddies are so glad they had many wonderful years of enjoying their GG.

Thank the Lord.

Team Girl

On January 20th, 2013 Lily had her first competition (in Masi's town).  The night before Lily said she was scared to perform in front of a lot of people. Daddy calmed her nerves and Lily was so excited to do her thing.
Lily did the best she could have and had a great time doing it.  She placed 14th out of 42 girls (ranging in ages from 4 to 8 years old).
Lily especially loved getting her first medal!

Nate is "race car fast" in his training wheels.  He's getting more and more confident on his bike and loves to practice riding everyday.
Lily and Nate made posters for Lily's first gymnastic's competition.  Lily is always ready to practice gymnastics and now she can enjoy the fanfare of competition.

New Years 2013

We rang in the New Year at Nanaji an Naniji's.  The kids loved drinking bubble juice.
Lily and Naniji made some delicious bhatura.

Lily and Nate enjoyed playing in the warm weather
and taking their new roller cars for a spin.
and Daddy and Mommy loved hanging around too :)

Christmas Day 2013

Lily and Nate woke up on Christmas morning to find that Santa ate up their gingerbread men and left them a sweet note.  Santa also left them presents!
We started by singing "Happy Birthday" to Jesus, then let the kids open their gifts.
Lily especially loved her birdhouse, Superman pajamas, and girl Legos.  Nate loved his tool set, walkie talkies, and craft box.
Merry Christmas!

Christmas Eve

We spent the week of Christmas at the River House.  Lily and Nate were excited to spend every minute with their favorite buddies (cousin E and S).
Everyone had fun playing, eating a yummy Christmas dinner by JoJo (and "Goo" (as Nate nicknamed the fruit salad) courtesy of Chachi).

On Christmas Eve we headed to Aunt Sonja's to see more family and eat yummy food.  JoJo made her famous deviled eggs (which is a favorite of Lily's).

One of Nate's favorite gifts was a pretend shaving kit from Aunt Bobbie.   Trickier than it looks :)
We all exchanged children gifts. Lily loved her new cowgirl boots from JoJo and Papa.   She also loved the new karaoke machine from Chacha and Chachi (and so did Daddy!)  Lily's favorite song to sing was "Come All Ye Faithful."   It was a wonderful week with family, as always.

They've Been Ready

The day after Halloween Lily, Nate, and friend A begged to decorate the Christmas tree.  They said they wanted to start decorating for Jesus' birthday now.  Who could say no to that?   So, up went the tree.  Notice the packed ornaments on the right side.
The kids also made a wish list for Santa.  Nate and Lily know that Santa gets them each 3 presents, and they are hoping for one or two on their list.  However, Mommy knows that Santa only got one of those, she knows the kids are always happy with whatever they get (as they should be):

(Lily was so sweet to help Nate with his list).

Here are letters they wrote to Santa that the elves are picking up from their school this week!
