Waiting for "Poohie"

Just in case baby Nate came early, JoJo and cousin Sarah came down a week earlier than Nate's due date of July 5th.

So, Sarah and I have been enjoying wearing out JoJo and having a great time doing sleepovers, going to the beach,

riding bikes (notice my new (training) wheels...one of Daddy's friends gave him the bike. Mommy tried to convince me to paint it pink or purple, but I said no, I like it just the way it is),

swinging on tree limbs,

going to music class,

going to an early 4th of July celebration (I think I want to be a painted up like a tiger every day!)

Now, we just wait some more...

Cousins Visit

I had a wonderful weekend spent with my cousins Sarah and Ephraim, and Chachi and Chacha.

While these three lovely people attended Chachi's stepbrother's wedding in a nearby city,

B'Ro and I got to spend the evening with each other. At first I had a hard time sharing and wanted to do whatever Ephraim ("the baby") was doing, but I soon got used to having to share Mom and Dad's attention...it was great practice for baby Nate!

We had a great time eating dinner, going on a walk, getting cleaned up and reading nighttime stories.

Mommy and Daddy thought B'Ro was just the sweetest toddler (at times he even shared better than I did)...hopefully baby Nate will be as easy going. We woke up and played cars--E loves cars! And I gave Dad a Father's Day card and hug.

I'll be seeing everyone soon when baby Nate comes and we'll celebrate!

June 18th, 2009: End of an Era

This past week, Mommy sold her beloved Ford Escort. Many thanks to Nana for buying it for her 10 years ago. It was a great car through graduate school and beyond.

Unfortunately, it was "Squeaks McCar's" time to go. Daddy named it "Squeaks" because when it was hot outside, the steering wheel would "talk" to us...the car wasn't the smoothest nor the quietest nor the coolest ride, but it made many trips with Mommy and with me. I loved opening/closing the door myself and getting buckled in my seat. However, with baby Nate coming, we couldn't comfortably fit two carseats in the back...Plus, now Papa won't get stuck trying to get out of backseat anymore :)

When Mommy sold the car and I saw it being driven off, I starting running after it continually crying "I want my car back!" It took a few minutes to settle me down and realize "Squeaks McCar" was gone. Mommy said we'll get a different car and asked me what color I wanted---I said green.

Now we are borrowing Papa and JoJo's Blazer until we find a replacement car (CRV perhaps?) Mommy and I are enjoying the tinted windows and controlled AC! Thanks for the loan JoJo and Papa!

Happy Father's Day Dad!

Dad, I want to wish you an early Happy Father's Day! We'll have a great weekend spending it with Chachi, Chacha, Sarah, and Ephraim--I can't wait to take the cousins to the pool and play!
Dad,
Thanks so much for being such a great buddy of mine:

Thanks for playing "Gingerbread Man & Fox" while we chase each other around your big leather chair..."You can't catch me I'm the Gingerbread Man!"

Thanks for playing "Three Little Pigs & Wolfie" with me even if I don't mind being eaten up by the Wolf :)

Thanks for playing kick the ball with me (super soccer kicks).

Thanks for helping me do flips off your lap in your big chair.

Thanks for taking me to the pool to swim--I'm getting better at keeping myself up with the arm floaties.

Thanks for taking me on long bike rides on your bike and on mine.

Thanks for letting me help you fill your vitamin tray--I love doing that!

Thanks for letting me help you wash your "Big Truck."

Thanks for letting me do things that Mommy thinks are too much or too loud for a "little girl."

Thanks for being a terrific Daddy!! We have a lot of fun together and I LOVE YOU!

Here is a Mother Goose verse that you used to read to me, and I would point and say "That's Lily!"
"Curly locks, curly locks,
Wilt thou be mine?

Thou shall not wash dishes

Nor yet feed the swine;

But sit on a cushion
And sew a fine seam,

And feed upon strawberries,

Sugar and cream."

Now, here is a Mother Goose verse that you teasingly said was me:
"There was a little girl,
And she had a little curl
Right in the middle

Of her forehead;

When she was good

She was very very good,

But when she was bad

She was horrid."

Gosh, I don't know how I could resemble that description?

Much Love XOXO,
Lily

Poohie at 32 weeks...with a name.

Let me announce that my baby brother now has a name:
Nathaniel (Nate) Ajay!
Nathaniel is actually an old family name on Daddy's side and Daddy likes that he can have a football nickname of Nate-Full-of-Hate (Mommy says she won't let that one pass).

He is still in Mommy's tummy, measuring a week larger, and super active.
Here is a pic of Poohie (I still can't give up on that name) with his foot in his face.

Love, Big Sister Lily XOXO

Happy Mother's Day Mommy!

Or just Mom, as I've come to call you lately. Dad and I appreciate all the meals you cook, clothes you fold, lessons in counting and reading that you give, and places you take me. Not to mention all the hugs, kisses, and time-outs. Not so much the time outs. We will have a great time while Dad is gone and I'll try to be on my best behavior so you and Poohie will be able to relax. I love you!
